About emoto.news
emoto.news covers electric motorcycles and the parts of the wider EV world that actually affect them — battery chemistry, charging infrastructure, homologation and the regulations that decide what you're allowed to ride.
We started this because the existing coverage falls into two camps: motorcycle publications that treat electric bikes as a novelty section, and EV publications that stop caring at four wheels. Neither serves someone trying to decide between a Light Bee and a Talaria, or trying to work out whether a Varg can be registered in their state.
What we cover
Electric motorcycles first — Sur-Ron, Stark, Talaria, Zero, LiveWire, and the long tail of manufacturers behind them. Then everything upstream of those machines: cells, motors, controllers, charging standards, and policy.
General EV news makes the site when it changes something for riders. A new cell chemistry entering volume production matters. A new electric crossover does not.
How we work
We ride the bikes we review, for long enough to have an opinion worth reading. Where a machine was supplied by a manufacturer or a loan was arranged for a press launch, we say so in the article. We do not give manufacturers copy approval, and we do not send questions in advance.
Some of our links earn us a commission. Which ones, and what that does and does not buy, is set out in full on our ethics and disclosure page. The short version: commissions never influence a verdict, and sponsored content is labelled as such at the top of the article, every time.
